Love for the Urban
I love nature but the city is where I find inspiration and moments of humanity. Sometimes its the awe of large infrastructure, or a mysterious atmospheric night. Sometimes I paint in homage to a nostalgic memory of a favorite place and the old hood. My many paintings of buildings and urban settings take their inspiration from the NY Ashcan school of the 30s and 40s. I’m intrigued to find the less explored parts of a city or the stories that express the people who live there.
