Puerto Escondido – Drawing a Community
As a painter I believe in the process. Whatever your medium or practice, if you do it a lot eventually you not only become better at your craft, but you can relax into the flow of being a part of a larger present moment. I paint and draw a lot, I have my moments of doubt and down time, but if I practice daily it shows in my work and I actually find I’m less encumbered by technique. For 3 months while on the coast of Mexico I didn’t have a painting studio but I kept creating by dedicating myself to drawing. To meet my community I drew over 35 graphite portraits and was able to present this work at a local cafe and gift my portraits to each of the people who came to the opening.
